Elementum

Locomotion: Two modified servo and a rear ball-castor

Elementum is a bare bones platform used to explore the development and use of an open frame robot.  The decks are made from acrylic plastic sheets that are laser cut to precise dimensions.  Elementum is propelled with a couple of modified servo motors and the back of the robot is supported with a ball-castor. A battery pack and voltage regulation circuit card was also designed in-house.  The voltage regulator card, takes the unregulated voltage from the power pack and regulates it to variable level (3.3V to 5.0V).  The voltage regulator card also has connectors for four servo motors and twelve power/ground connections.

The robot in the videos has a second deck added to support the microcontroller board and a panning proximity sensor.
